Iguana General Information
  • Lay eggs to reproduce
  • Grow to the length of 4-6 feet with proper care
  • Live 10-15 years in captivity with proper care
  • Males grow larger than females
  • Females are heavier in the body than males
  • Males have larger dorsal crests than females
  • Both sexes make great pets
  • One iguana per cage
 

Caution!

The Center for Disease Control recommends the following for preventing disease:

  • Make sure to wash your hands after handling a reptile. Jack's has products that kill germs and bacteria including salmonella bacteria. A sales associate will be happy to show you these products.
  • Make sure children do not put their hands in their mouth after touching a reptile.
  • Keep reptiles away from areas where food is prepared.
  • Do not wash cages, food dishes and aquariums in the kitchen sink.
  • Do not keep reptiles in childcare centers.
  • If you are pregnant or have a weakened immune system, avoid reptiles.
